In summer 2015, 14 European architectural institutions from 13 different countries came together to launch the Future Architecture Platform. The goal of this association is to bring the innovations, experiments and ideas of a new generation of architects and planners up for discussion and to network these internationally. For this purpose, the platform itself provides digital communication channels, which are additionally enhanced by each individual member. By means of workshops, exhibitions, conferences, lectures and books, complex issues regarding how the living environment is to be shaped in the future are discussed at the platform’s individual institutions all throughout Europe. The platform’s initiator and project coordinator is the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana (SI) and the members. The Future Architecture platform is launching an open call for ideas.
The criteria for submissions were as follows:
– Applicant’s idea related to architecture or city development was created independently after graduation and within the last 2 years
– Applicant has publicly presented or published their independent work(s)
– Applicant has not yet attained recognition by having a body of critically recognised work at major and/or established institutions or publishers
– Applicant has not participated in past Future Architecture platform activities
Future Architecture Platform wants to expose innovation, experimentation and ideas of a generation that will build European cities and architecture in the years to come. It will build commitment and support the promotion of creatives and members through Future Architecture Qualitylabel. It will support emerging creatives, develop their international artistic potential by enabling them to present themselves in Europe-wide programming among the FAP member organizations.
