Open-Air Lecture | Swiss Architectural Award 2020: Bruther (Paris)

9-10 PM
In cooperation with
Open House Basel.

The Bruther office, founded in 2007 by Stéphanie Bru and Alexandre Theriot, is the winner of the seventh edition of the Swiss Architectural Award!
In cooperation with Open House Basel.

Bruther's projects are conceived as open infrastructures that can adapt to new and changing sites. Their architectural interventions in challenging environments (e.g. peripheries of French cities) help to give new identity to the places and their inhabitants.

The Fondazione Teatro dell'architettura (Mendrisio) offers the award every two years in cooperation with the USI-Accademia di architettura and continues the legacy of the BSI Architecture Foundation. The award promotes architecture that is sensitive to contemporary, ethical, aesthetic, and ecological issues and that encourages public debate.

Chaired by Mario Botta, this year's jury brought together all three Swiss schools of architecture. This cooperation underlines the national importance of the prize and confirms its internationality: Bruther was selected among 33 candidates from 19 countries.

With the Open-Air Lecture, the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum in cooperation with Open House Basel, USI-Accademia di architettura and the Fondazione Teatro dell'architettura, celebrates the innovative work of the award-winning architectural practice and the ambitious prize.
