The S AM Swiss Architecture Museum is located in the city centre of Basel between tram stops Bankverein, Barfüsserplatz and Theater. You can use trams 2, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16 to get to the museum. Please consult the online timetable for further information.
The S AM Swiss Architecture Museum has no parking facilities. When traveling by car, please use one of the following car parks:
All exhibition galleries of S AM Swiss Architecture Museum are fully wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair users only require staff assistance when accessing the building from Steinenberg 7. Our staff will be pleased to help you (phone +41 61 206 99 01).
The safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority. This is why the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum has developed a set of protective measures, which is based on guidelines released by the Federal Government and the Canton Basel-City as well as recommendations from the Swiss Museums Association.
NEW REGULATIONS FROM MONDAY, 20 DECEMBER 2021
Please note that from Monday, 20 December, a valid Swiss or EU Covid certificate 2G (vaccinated, recovered) must be presented together with an official identity card in order to visit the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum. The certificate 2G requirement applies to visitors aged 16 and over.
In addition, masks are compulsory.
