The S AM Swiss Architecture Museum is located in the city centre of Basel between tram stops Bankverein, Barfüsserplatz and Theater. You can use trams 2, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16 to get to the museum. Please consult the online timetable for further information.
The S AM Swiss Architecture Museum has no parking facilities. When traveling by car, please use one of the following car parks:
All exhibition galleries of S AM Swiss Architecture Museum are fully wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair users only require staff assistance when accessing the building from Steinenberg 7. Our staff will be pleased to help you (phone +41 61 206 99 01).
The safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority. This is why the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum has developed a set of protective measures, which is based on guidelines released by the Federal Government and the Canton Basel-City as well as recommendations from the Swiss Museums Association.
This set of measures includes the following key aspects:
- The flow of visitors will be controlled in such a way that the required amount of interpersonal distance can be maintained.

- The museum infrastructure will be cleaned on a regular basis.
- Visitors will be asked to pay using debit and credit cards when possible.
- Face masks are required.
