S AM Calls: Lina Ghotmeh, architect and founder of Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture, Paris
«S AM Calls» is a series of Instagram Live conversations with practitioners and thinkers from the world of architecture on the pressing questions driving the built environment today.
On Thursday, 13 August, at 17:00 (5 PM) CEST, please join us on our Instagram page (@s_am_basel) for the next «S AM Calls» conversation between S AM Director Andreas Ruby and Lina Ghotmeh. Lina Ghotmeh is a French-Lebanese architect and founder of Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture, a multidisciplinary studio for research, architecture, and design based in Paris. A co-author (together with DGT Architects) of the Estonian National Museum in Tartu, Ghotmeh has developed a practice that emphasizes ecology and sustainability, whose projects derive their aesthetics from their close relationship with nature and express the essence of the materials from which they are fashioned. The firm’s upcoming or recently completed projects include the 14-story wooden tower «Réalimenter Masséna» in Paris, the Stone Garden tower in Ghotmeh’s hometown of Beirut, and the interior renovation of the Palais de Tokyo’s restaurant in Paris.
All conversations take place in English and are recorded. If you missed the previous conversations with Jacques Herzog, Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani, Ludovica Molo, Richard Hassell, Ana Puigjaner, Theo Deutinger, Jeanne Gang, Eyal, Weizman, Rahul Mehrotra, Philippe Rahm or Asymptote Architecture you can catch up on our Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels.
