‘Constructing Film: Swiss Architecture in the Moving Image’ sets out on an exciting search for cinematic images of Swiss architectural culture: In continuation of the exhibition and publication series initiated at the S AM in 2012, which investigates different methods of communicating architecture, the focus is upon the characterisation of film as an instrument of analysis and representative medium for architecture. Various essays by specialist authors provide a multiperspective investigation of the interaction between film and architecture. Ten interviews with key Swiss protagonists active in the interface of architecture and the moving image complete the analysis of the film medium: architects, filmmakers, journalists and representatives of the fields of research and academia answer questions on the possibilities and limitations of film, providing an insight into their working environments.
