ACTIVITIES for children and families

S AM Swiss Architecture Museum offers a wide range of activities for children and families. Holiday programmes, Drop-in Workshops and Family Sundays invite children, young people and families to experience and discover their built environment with all their senses – and to play an active part in shaping it.

Family Tour ‹Tony Fretton: Practice›

Date: 18 October 2026, 11 am, in German

What do we notice when we take a closer look at architecture? Children and adults explore the exhibition ‹Tony Fretton: Practice› together, focusing on spaces, materials, forms and what is already there. Afterwards, we head outside with Polaroid cameras to explore the area around the museum and capture whatever catches our eye – unusual details, materials, façades, transitions or everyday situations. The resulting photographs become a starting point for talking together about architecture and the ways in which we perceive our built environment.
