ACTIVITIES FOR KINDERGARTENS, SCHOOLS AND TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
Architectural Education in the Museum – The S AM Swiss Museum of Architecture as an Out-of-School Learning Venue
Supported by Beisheim Stiftung
The S AM Swiss Museum of Architecture is committed to raising awareness of architecture, urban planning and building culture among kindergarten children, pupils and students. As a designed living environment, architecture surrounds us at all times and continuously shapes our perception and everyday experience.
TOURS AND WORKSHOPS IN THE MUSEUM AND IN THE CITY ON FOOT OR BY BIKE
Each temporary exhibition is accompanied by age-appropriate, dialogue-based guided tours and workshops. Programmes can also be booked outside regular opening hours, offering the unique experience of being ‘alone in the museum’. In addition, guides outdoor tours on foot or by bike invite participants to explore architecture in the urban environment. In cooperation with the Department of Urban Development & Architecture of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, visitors can also discover the city through the large-scale city model.
CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR TEACHERS
A range of professional development formats and exhibition introductions invite teachers to explore the museum as an out-of-school learning venue and to integrate it into their teaching practice.
PROJECT WORK WITH SCHOOL CLASSES
Collaborative project work with individual school classes is a key part of our programme.
Do you have a specific topic in mind? We look forward to hearing from you.
